Garden Blogger's Bloom Day - March 2016

Spring is here!  I hear it, I smell it, I see it! The sounds of birds and the smells of wet spring soil and decomposing leaves.  The early bloomers are here, mostly bulbs! What a happy sight!

Narcissus "Tete-a-Tete"

March started with nice weather and the blooms of Witch Hazel tree, Snow drops and Hellebore.
Snow drops or Galanthus nivalis (March 1)

Dwarf irises are a new addition in my garden as of last fall. One variety in yellow bloomed at the end of February at the same time with Snow drops.
Iris danfordiae (March 11)

Right now Iris reticulata and histrioides are in bloom.

Iris reticulata "Cantab"

Iris reticulata J.S. Djit

Iris histrioides "Lady Beatrix Stanley"
My cell phone's camera captured this beauty much better than my Canon camera.

Rock cress is starting to bloom today
Arabis alpina caucasica
So this was another Garden Blogger's Bloom Day hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.  Check-out Carol's post you will find links to many other gardener's blooms at mid-month.

Swan Lake -Seven Springs, PA

We took a mini family vacation around New Years eve, to Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.  We've been here before many times without the kids but this visit was special. First snow tubing experience for our children was memorable. The day we arrived there was no snow, so what is to do? We saw this lake on the way to our villa so we decided to stop and take pictures. It was named the Swan Lake. Lovely creatures!
